Sooooo, last week I had to do exchanges with my District Leader, Elder Sweeten. By the way, he is the MAN. Anyways, we were just walking through this area called Fallsbrook. This little area reminds me of East St.Louis lol. it has a bunch of run down trailors, lots of interesting people...lots of crazy barking dogs. yeah, so it was raining the day we were walking through Fallsbrook and we saw this guy chill'n out in his garage with his dog. My companion and I decided to talk to this guy. He was super nice. We talked for about 20 minutes while the storm died down a bit. We then brought up the church, and he said he was member but less active. He said, "Yeah I've been a member for a while, but i'm not really into the church anymore. My grandfather was one of the presidents of the church though. Yeah, Heber J Grant was his name." Say what!?! My companion and I tried not to freak out hahaha. what in the world is his grandson doing in Fallsbrook in Idaho!? What are the odds of that happening? So yeah, we're are gonna get him active again =P
In other news, my companion and I are seeing miracles left and right. We are finding a ton of potential investigators. For example! Just the other day we went to an appointment with an investigator named Jaun Carlos. he didn't show up, but his son was home...so we just started talking to him. then out of no where he said, "Hey, so the other day I was reading the Book of Mormon. It talked about the nephites and other really interesting things. But can you guys come back and teach me a little more about it?" Well OF COurSE! gah! that was awesome lol. We had a good lesson with him and we have another this week. And we are pretty sure Jaun Carlos is going to get baptized. He's hungry to learn and he's really opened up to us. He says every time we come over he feels peace. Jaun is so legit.
But seriously, we are seeing miracles left and right. There's a part in Preach My Gospel that says if you do EVERYTHING you can to find people to teach, the Lord will put people in your path. The Lord needs to trust his missionaries before he places them in our paths. That's something huge that I learned when Elder Clarke came and spoke to us. There's a reason why there are hundreds of missionaries in the Pocatello Idaho Mission. It's because the Lord's work is hastening, and there's more people being prepared!! I'm literally seeing it in the area I'm in. It's awesome.
