Feasting on more than food!

So this week wasn't too bad. I learned A LOT. We had this amazing district meeting the other day. We have a new district leader and he is pretty awesome. He's super spiritual, and he is soooo stinking hilarious. His motto for the mission is DO missionary work...but have FUN. He's pretty old though..he's like 24 years old...and he's been out for like 8 months haha. We all make fun of him because he's an oldie.

But in the District meeting we just talked about opening our mouths more and how to excite the members about missionary work. It's impossible to do missionary work without the member's help. They help find the people, and they help prepare them for the missionaries.

I feel like every member should read Preach My Gospel. That pretty much tells ya everything ya need to know about sharing the gospel. It's not just for missionaries! We've been teaching a lot of  English members that speak Spanish so i can just practice! It's actually been helping a lot, and I can see my Spanish improving. Actually...for like the first time I could understand a lot more at church haha.

Let's see...what else happened? Oh, we ran into this guy who was totally not excited to see us missionaries. He wanted nothing to do with us, but we bore our testimonies to him anyways. Maybe in the future he will be ready for eternal happiness and joy in this life and the life to come =D That was one of the high lights of the week. Another highlight is that we accidentally booked ourselves for two dinners in one night. Long story on how that happened...but moral of the story is...we were sooooooo stinking full. we were wobbling out of that last dinner appointment...i thought i was going to explode. That's alright though...my companion and i have been doing some Cross Fit workouts to get into shape. X-treme fitness! grahh!!

Well good news is that we might have a two baptismal dates this week!! We are gonna invite these two investigators we taught this last week to be baptized on a specific date. We're praying a lot for these investigators. We'll see how it goes. One of these investigators is like...GOLDEN. He started losing faith in the church that he was going to...and he just wants to find the right church to join. We gave him a Book of Mormon, read together from the introduction, promised him he could receive an answer if the Book of Mormon is true, and invited him to be baptized! He said he would get baptized when he received an answer. His wife is a less active...we're are going to try to reactive her in the process.

Here is the scripture for the week!! 1Peter 3:14-15 "But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled. But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." I like those scriptures a lot.

I love you guys! Peace and Blessings

Don't hate ... LOL!!!

They either love us ... or not.

it's the simple things in life ...

Hello everybody! well this email will be pretty short. I'm gonna be calling you guys next week!! and yeah, we can use skype which is super awesome. around 6:15ish will be the best. I'll probably just call you guys over the phone so i can get all the skype info figured out, then we can skype. yay!

This week was a solid week. My companion and I went to this big Spanish festival, and we had a table set up with tons of Books of Mormons and pamphlets to pass out. We were able to get a few referrals from that event. It was way awesome. This week my companion and I are cracking down on alllll the families in the English wards that actually speak Spanish as a second language.  We just want to teach as much as possible, and we have a ton of members to teach this week. Like I said before, the members out here rock and are super helpful. There are two kinds of people you run into in Idaho...either really solid members they just love to serve the missionaries in any way possible, oooor the anti mormon people who want nothing to do with us. it's great!

Yeah, Idaho weather is crazy! One day it was super duper windy (like 60mph winds!), then it snowed, then it got really warm the next day, then the day after that it rained. But today is a beautiful day =D. My little area that I'm serving in really reminds me of Lebanon lol. It's a very small village with lots of taters, and very few people haha. Good news is we actually have a lot of investigators to see this week. The Spanish sisters gave us a huge list that were in THEIR area....they have like NO time to visit them because they are in the visitor center half of the time. We we got some Spanish investigators to teach this week! woo! I'm super excited about that. But yeah, nothing too crazy happened this week, but it was a solid week.

Well....i know this is pretty short buuuut i can't wait to call you guys next week! Looooooove y'all!!

Color your Book of Mormon

Hello everyone! Don't worry...I'll get some pictures up soon. I know I'm pretty bad about getting those pics up. Don't you fret.  My companion and I went to Deseret Industries thrift store today! You find all kinds of little treasures there. Today i got a sick tie for 2 bucks. The tie feels like a nice carpet =D

This week my companion and I were able to provide some good o service for the Green family. They're an English speaking family that we meet while we were out tracting. We just knocked on their house and asked if they needed anything. They needed some strong, young, good looking men dig some holes. We dug some holes for them because the mom wants a big huge garden in their backyard. The dad wasn't too fond of the idea, but he did what his wife wanted to anyways...it kinda reminded me of you guys haha. It was way fun getting to know them.

Remember that one guy Seth? Well...he's in a jail now. Kinda stinks. He was living with the Mahaffey family (they're members, and the dad totally reminds me of Jack Black. He acts and talks JUST like him). but anyways...he went out one night to go do some stupid stuff. Got drunk...went to a bar, got into a big fight, ect. so ya, he's in jail now. But he has never served jail time before. His dad, who lives in California,  is loaded and always bails him out, but this time he's staying in there for a looooong time. Hopefully serving some jail time will give him a wake up call. That's what Brother Mahaffey even said. He was the one investigator I really liked to teach and talk to.

We've been teaching some more less active members. We've been trying to get to know them and spark that testimony they once had. There are many less actives out here though...and a lot of them haven't been members for too long.

Well that wraps up another week in paradise. OH! It's finally starting to get warm here. Yay. Kyle is going to Africa...sweet. Ya, i'll keep him in my prayers so he'll be safe lol. And I'm stoked that Rex is gonna put in his papers!! Man, he would be such a great missionary. I can't wait to see what awesome experiences he'll have. Gahhh...thinking about him makes me miss all of my O'fallon brethren. I love those guys.

Welp, have a super fantastic week! And if you guys are super bored, you can do this fun activity I'm doing. First, get a fresh new paper back copy of the Book of Mormon. Second, get some Crayola colored pencils. Highlight these 4 things in different colors

1) Each reference to Jesus Christ (any of his names or pronouns referring to him)

2) His words (spoken by Him or the prophets when they say, 'Thus sayeth the Lord)

3) His attributes

4) The doctrines and principles contained in the BoM

Your BoM will become very colorful and you will pick out stuff you never have before.

have fun!
